New tourism pass is teed up for golfers
A new tourism pass is to give visitors discounted entry to a series of golf courses in the Lothians.
The East Lothian Visitor Golf Pass will offer up to five rounds at 25 local golf courses, with visitors receiving up to 15 per cent off green fees as well as other incentives.
The Pass will target the UK & Ireland market, as well as Germany, Sweden and North America.
It will be promoted at exhibitions and golf shows, and will also be for sale on the website, www.golfeastlothian.com.
The scheme will get up and running after securing £26,000 of funding from national tourism body VisitScotland's growth fund.
Sinead Feltoe, regional director for VisitScotland, said that the new initiative would help to position East Lothian as a "must visit, must return" tourist destination.
