Golf book set to be £30k hit
A rare book on golf is expected to fetch more than £30,000 at auction in Edinburgh next week.
The Goff; An Heroi-Comical Poem, first published in 1743, was the first printed book devoted entirely to the game.
Written by Thomas Mathison, an Edinburgh legal writer, it satirises in verse a game of golf played on the capital's Leith Links.
Collector pitches in £25k for 18th century golf book
