On a dull and almost dry night, there was a good turnout (17 including two new recruits) for the first competition of the season.

The greens were generally in very good condition although some parts of the fairway/rough were, comparatively, quite long.

As with last year's opening competition, scoring was not great with no-one having a net score below par.

The winner of the Opening Strokeplay was Judy Gordon (net 108) and the lowest scratch score (104) was recorded by Jim Morton.
